Michele Sankar

Michèle Sankar has been a teacher for over 30 years in all grades from kindergarten to Grade 8. As an Ontario Certified Teacher, she worked in the York Region Board of Education in all subject areas, including the General Curriculum, French, the Arts, and Special Education. She has mentored and supervised student teachers and new educators in both the public and Jewish schools. From the University of Toronto, Michèle has an Honours B.A. in Italian Language and Literature and a B. Ed. with a Music specialty and additional qualifications in French and Drama in Education. Michèle has been active in the Jewish community, having led Bat Mitzvah Club for ten years, taught Hebrew School, and volunteered with Bikur Cholim. She continues to prepare meals for vulnerable and senior individuals in need and is frequently called upon to speak at Jewish events. Michèle is inspired by the limitless creativity and enthusiasm of children and by the Tamim approach to learning. She looks forward to an exciting year of growing and exploring with the entire Tamim community.
