Rose Gordon-Rak

I was born and raised in Montreal, where I developed a genuine love and appreciation for the French language and culture. Growing up in a Jewish community in Montreal, I also came to appreciate the unique connection between French language and Jewish life, and I value the opportunity to help students experience that connection as well.

I have had the joy of teaching with the YRDSB for many years, teaching both French and English, and I am so excited to now be joining the Tamim team.

My teaching philosophy is simple: children learn best when they experience success. When students feel successful, they become more confident, motivated, and willing to take risks in their learning. I love creating a classroom environment where students feel comfortable, encouraged, and excited to participate. Through engaging activities such as practice conversations, whole-class games, and plays, I aim to make learning French fun, meaningful, and memorable. Most importantly, I want my students to develop a positive relationship with the French language while also seeing how language, culture, and Jewish identity can beautifully come together.
